Myths Retold
Ancient myths. Told the way they were meant to be heard.
Myths Retold is a YouTube channel that retells the myths and legends of the ancient world for adults: Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Japanese and more. Every story is based on the ancient sources (Hesiod, Homer, Ovid, the Eddas, the Kojiki and others) and narrated over classical-style paintings. When the ancient versions disagree, we tell you.
New stories are published every day, with short versions for YouTube Shorts.
How the videos are made
The channel uses AI tools to help write, narrate and illustrate each video, always starting from an original idea by the creator and from the ancient texts. Videos are labelled as containing altered or synthetic content, as YouTube requires. Classical paintings shown are in the public domain and credited.
